Finished test-driven development: A Practical Guide by David Astels. And too much test cases distract me from creating better features. In order to achieve that I've left out a lot of complexity that you'd ordinarily encounter in software development. Client can't see it and employer doesn't value it. Kent Beck, who popularised TDD and is generally considered the high guru of TDD and XP, wrote that when writing code do two things: Firstly, add a test, get it to fail, and write code to pass the test, and; Second, Remove duplication. In particular the following items are noticeably absent from the screencast: Practical value. Part 2 discusses various tools and techniques for doing TDD. I don't think TDD is practical. Once this has happened and no extra time is allocated to bring the tests up-to-date again (good luck getting that approved), the test driven development has failed and you're just plainly developing again. Part 1 introduces the reader to test-driven development. I don't give a shit too, because that is not a creative way, it treats people like machine.
